Dine in private by Lake Superior

Before the decks are covered with winter snows, let’s take a moment to reflect on a glorious moment here at our Duluth inn. Look at this picture, taken here during warm weather. What if you could enjoy your morning coffee here? What if you could sit back and bask in the sun, listening to the gentle lapping of waves on the shore, just a stone’s throw away from where you sit? What if you could share this moment with your good spouse, your good friend, your grown child?

You can, here at our Lake Superior bed and breakfast. We are just minutes from the heart of Duluth, and walking distance to many great shops and restaurants, yet when we sit here drinking locally roasted coffee, we feel that nothing exists except the sky, the lake, and the beach that calls to us. We hope you’ll come experience this sensation for yourself.

include Bamboo wood floors and sod roofs. The suites will be beautiful, environmentally sound and luxurious. For example, each of our new suites will have spa rooms with hydro-massage bathtubs and heated back rests – because there’s nothing worse than getting into the bath when the porcelain is still icy against your skin! The suites will also have separate showers and cozy fireplaces.

Hopefully the suites will be finished in time for your trip to our Minnesota Bed and Breakfast!

Things Are Getting Better At Solglimt

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Although the economy may not be very good, that doesn’t stop us from working to make Solglimt even better! We have been working feverishly to finish renovations to our Harbor View Suite the last couple of weeks. So far we have added to the suite a beautiful new gas fireplace with a pickled oak mantle and granite front, a new love seat sofa sleeper to add another sleeping configuration to its king bed and we are in the process of totally renovating the bath. The new bath (expected to be completed by next weekend) will have a luxurious new thermal massage spa tub and shower, water saver toilet, “green” Marmolium flooring, and glass and ceramic tiles throughout.
