Rainbow on the Lake
Monday, October 26th, 2009One of the joys of living on the shores of Lake Superior is moments like this. Everything stops, and we are filled with serenity. This is something we enjoy being able to offer our guests. Although we certainly can’t guarantee rainbows, we can promise that this great lake can work a little magic on you if you let it while you stay at our Lake Superior bed and breakfast. Whether you walk along its shores or gaze at it from our deck or from the window of your room, we hope you will find it relaxing and rejuvenating.

After getting about four inches of new snow last Wednesday to “freshen” up the snow banks, today the sun is bright and melting it away quickly. The ice breaker Alder was out breaking up the ice in the Harbor and around the North and South Piers today getting ready for the first shipping traffic to leave the port. This time of year at Solglimt is always fun to watch the ice floes come & go, come & go and then go for good and hear the waves lapping on the sand beach again until next winter.
