It’s that time again. The University of Minnesota Duluth will be handing out diplomas to undergraduates on Saturday, May 15. Graduate diplomas will be presented on Thursday, May 13. We still have a few openings at our Duluth Bed and Breakfast, and hope you’ll consider staying with us as you witness this important rite of passage.

We get our driver’s license at 16, vote at 18, and have our first drink at 21. Commencement is another rite of passage, and perhaps it is the most significant. It rewards years of hard work, not just by one person, but by a whole community of students. It marks the moment when young adults are expected to become productive members of society.

For parents and children, commencement marks a whole new phase of life. Enjoy this time together while you have it. Walk the beach by our Duluth Bed and Breakfast, share a meal, and talk.
