Experience the Duluth IMAX
As the temperature drops and the snow starts falling in earnest, we tend to look for ways to occupy our time indoors. One of my favorite activities during the winter is movie watching, and while I am not averse to plopping down in front of a good DVD with a frighteningly big bowl of popcorn, I prefer to head to the theater.
Walk to DECC from our Canal Park BB
One of the finest theaters in Duluth is walking distance from our Canal Park lodging. I am referring to the OMNIMAX at Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. There is no better way to forget the windchill than to surround yourself with sounds and images of something else. It’s just plain fun.
There are several good films currently playing at the OMNIMAX. You can delve into the Deep Sea, or go back to the time of dinosaurs. You can discover the Mysteries of the Great Lakes, or travel to the Alps. Heck, if you stay at our Lake Superior bed and breakfast long enough, you can see all four films.
When your eyes are tired of staring at the screen and your ears are in need of a rest, walk some of the seven miles of beach by our Duluth b&b. Sure, it will be chilly, but the wind and fresh air will clear your head. You will find your appetite is stimulated – always a good thing at this time of year, when comfort foods abound. You can warm your hands with a cup of tea at the inn, and go to sleep dreaming of buckets of freshly brewed Alakef coffee.
