Amazing feats in Duluth

We here at this Duluth Minnesota inn do not believe that anyone needs an excuse to visit Duluth because we love it here. However, if you do feel that you need a reason to come to Duluth, then look no further: the Cirque de la Symphonie performs Saturday May 30 at the DECC Auditorium. Why not check out last minute deals at our Canal Park MN bed and breakfast and plan to be wowed on Saturday night?

People will fly through the air, tie themselves into knots, juggle, balance, juggle while balancing, and dance. Cirque de la Symphonie combines beautiful orchestral music with the flawlessly performed incredible feats. World-record-holders, gold-medal-winners, and original talent will be on stage this Saturday night in Duluth. Why not be there too? According to the Cirque’s website, “the combination of (symphony and cirque) provides an energized performance that is greater than the sum of its parts…. The performances are uniquely adapted to stage accommodations shared by symphonies, and each artist’s performance is professionally choreographed to classical masterpieces and popular contemporary music in collaboration with the maestro.”

Music makes our spirits soar: imagine what will happen inside you when you watch people soar while listening to music.

36GOLF - THE GOOD STUFF

Spring is a good time to golf in Duluth

One pleasant addition to a weekend getaway in Duluth is a round of golf. Throw your clubs in the car and plan to tee-off after a delicious Solglimt breakfast of fresh produce and locally roasted coffee. There is great golfing near our Canal Park MN bed breakfast. Enger Park Golf Course and Lester Park Golf Course both offer 27 holes, short game practice areas and driving ranges. Lester Park is on the north shore of Duluth and has spectacular views of Lake Superior, while Enger Park offers more territorial, pastoral views. If you feel like improving your game, lessons with a PGA golf professional are available.

After your game, return to Solglimt, our Duluth b&b on the shore of Lake Superior, where you can soak your sore muscles in one of our Hydromassage bath tubs.

Mother’s Day at our Duluth Bed and Breakfast

Does the Mother in your life know how much you appreciate her? Whether she is your own mother or the mother of your children, she deserves a little appreciation. It is not too late to whisk her away for the weekend to Solglimt, our bed and breakfast in Duluth MN.

If she likes the outdoors, there are seven miles of sandy beach to wander just steps away from this Duluth MN bed and breakfast. Bring your kayaks and paddle through Saint Louis and Superior Bays. If she prefers to have the wind do the work for her, then look into Carriage House Charters Sailboat Rides; the captain will provide a little history of the region while you sail on Lake Superior and St. Louis Bay.

Should she prefer strolling through the corridors of museums to outdoor activities, visit Fairlawn Mansion Museum in Superior. Built in 1890, this 42 room restored mansion recalls Superior’s boomtown days. Fitger’s Museum in Duluth reveals what beer was like in 1859, back when Fitger’s was the most successful brewery in the state.

On Mother’s Day, we will provide a delicious, homemade breakfast. And when it comes time for dinner, we would be happy to recommend some of our favorite restaurants for an evening out in Duluth. We think we have the best location in all of Duluth, almost floating on Lake Superior, but close to downtown as well. So come this weekend, and bring your favorite mother.
